Tākiri: an Unfurling

It was a privilege to work as lead graphic designers for Tākiri a contemporary art exhibition at the New Zealand Maritime Museum. Seven artists were engaged to explore early encounters betwean Māori and European through new artworks inspired by museum taonga and collections. Te Reo was a prominent and a primary form of communication throughout the exhibition and the main title uses typographic treatments in a visual rhythm that builds like a chant gaining momentum.
